When you are working at a modern-day tech company you don’t have to be confined to an office all the time, all you really need is a laptop and you can work from anywhere you want.

We love our Wakefield based office but sometimes we like to venture out into the real world to get some work done.

Although not essential it is nice to find a place with good WIFI and a power source but far more important and something things that are essential are… good coffee and snacks!

These are the coolest places in Wakefield to work from your laptop and grab a cup of chow from.

Tastebuds @ The Station
tastebudsatthestation.com

Unit 1, Monk Street, Wakefield Kirkgate Station, WF1 4EL

This is a nice little independent coffee shop with the added bonus of being in the Wakefield Kirkgate station, so it can be really handy if you need to do some work and travel somewhere in the same day.

This is quite a small place and can be quite busy at times, but they do great coffee and awesome bacon butties which sure do help fuel a work session.

Trinity Bakehouse & Café

8 Zetland Street, Wakefield WF1 1QG

Nice sandwiches, full English breakfasts and some really tasty cakes make this a good place to eat and work. The staff are really friendly and the coffee is decent too.

There is also little section with a couple of sofas that is good for getting some work done or having an informal meeting.

Create Café Wakefield

One Burton Street, Wakefield, WF1 2EB

As soon as you walk in this place you are hit with a wonderful sea of colour, it’s a bit like walking into a rainbow or a bag of skittles. That alone makes it worth a visit.

There is a nice laid-back vibe which makes it a good place to work and there are some interesting choices on the menu such as the Katsu curry which is a personal favourite. Great food and staff.

Marmalade on the Square
marmaladeonthesquare.co.uk

21 Bull Ring, Wakefield, WF1 1HB

This place has a quirky retro feel to it with the mismatched furniture and porcelain tea sets, we really like it. It is the best place in the town for a quality cup of tea if that is your thing.

The staff are very nice and the food is good too. The atmosphere is relaxed so you can bust out some work with few distractions.

Blacker Hall Farm
blackerhallfarmshop.co.uk

Branch Road, Calder Grove, Wakefield, West Yorkshire, WF4 3DN

Blacker Hall Farm is set slightly out of the center of Wakefield but is roughly 1 mile from junction 39 of the M1 which makes it a great place for a meeting.

The benefit of Blacker Hall Farm is that it’s very quiet meaning you’re able to bury yourself in work with little distraction. In the summer, they have an outside patio area with strong Wifi connection which allows you can lap up the sun whilst still getting plenty of work done. The pastries aren’t too bad either and if you’re open to a spot of afternoon tea this is the place to be.
